About Julie Bartholomew, MD
Dr. Julie is a physician by education, lifelong award-winning inventor, hyper-realism tattoo artist, trauma-informed mindfulness meditation educator, and former wellness executive who has held more than 85 patents granted globally in the fields of personalized beauty, health, and wellness. As the founder and CEO of IMX Cosmetics, she was an early pioneer in AI-driven formulation and personalization, blending art and science to develop technologies that empowered individuals to customize their wellness rituals long before personalization became industry standard.
Following the pandemic, Dr. Julie pivoted from product innovation to trauma-informed mental wellness leadership, launching Life Raft, a nervous system support initiative for educators, healthcare providers, and students, especially in rural communities where resources were limited and burnout widespread.
She earned her Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University, with emphases in psychology and sociology. She completed her advanced restorative tattoo artistry training at the Sauler Institute of Tattooing and through the Jody Stoski Paramedical Academy. Blending her lifelong love of painting three-dimensional murals, a deep commitment to holistic nervous system care, and decades of innovation, Dr. Julie now brings these disciplines together through her medical tattooing. These services go beyond aesthetics, creating experiences that acknowledge the emotional and physiological impact of breast cancer and the ways in which the nervous system may respond throughout treatment, recovery, and survivorship. To complement her tattoo work, Dr. Julie also offers Relaxation Immersions, spa-like experiences designed to nourish and foster emotional well-being throughout the cancer treatment process. Whether in a clinical setting, at home, or in-studio, these relaxing sessions are attuned to the body’s need for safety, softness, and replenishment.
